OMG — HOKAB Hotel in Bacalar is a hidden gem! My wife and I had a travel disaster (long story — Airbnb nightmare ), so we scrambled for a real hotel and landed at HOKAB. What a rescue mission! The place is spotless, super family-friendly, and run by a very kind gentleman at the front desk whose English is great — genuinely welcoming vibes. Highlights: - Wake-up call: stunning lagoon sunrises from the rooftop pool — pure magic. - Rooftop chill zone: astroturf floor, two tidy washrooms, and perfect sunrise views. - Nature soundtrack: local birds, friendly strays, and neighborhood dogs and cats give the place character (in a cute way). - Comfort: comfy bed, working A/C, and a Roku smart TV for chill evenings. - Hot water: solar-heated — works well, just a few seconds delay. I even grabbed a cheap showerhead from the local store to fix a clogged one (travel hack! ). - Cleanliness: genuinely very clean and well-kept. Road in/out is a bit rough, so rent-driving folks beware — but honestly, who cares when the hotel itself is this awesome? Would I stay again? Absolutely — 100% yes. If I come back to Bacalar, HOKAB is my spot. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Book it, relax, and enjoy the lagoon life!

Grandioso Hotel, excelente Atención por parte de la Administración son acogedores y atentos, también te guían de los Lugares con la belleza de Bacalar, 100% recomendable no para una noche si no varias noches.
Me encantó el hotel está muy cerca de la laguna, las habitaciones estan muy bonitas, el baño está en muy buenas condiciones siempre hay agua caliente, el aire acondicionado funcionó muy bien hay Wi-Fi y el personal muy amable, excelente la atención. Si regresamos a Bacalar me volvería a quedar aquí. El frigobar enfriaba de lujo las bebidas Lo recomiendo mucho y el precio por habitación muy accesible.
stayed at Hotel Hokab for 5 nights and absolutely loved it. The location is excellent—everything is walkable, including the beach, the lagoon, and the central market. The property is clean, well-kept, and has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. It was the perfect base to explore Bacalar, and I’d definitely stay here again!
